Extreme Road Challenge

Letter from Director

Dear Runner,

It is my goal to increase, recognize and encourage young runners who get out and participate in a summer activity that betters your life and the lives of others.  As a runner in a road race you are making your life better through building healthy habits.  You are also making your community better by supporting the organization that is putting on the road race.     Therefore, you do not have to be associated with any sport in your school you just have to be in attendance.  Thank you ahead of time for your participation.

This is the third year for this challenge.  I am proud of the past year’s participants of which Randall and Tascosa won! Last years winner (Tascosa) had a stellar year when the boys won district and came close to a State appearance.  Congratulations to Austin middle school for winning the junior high division.  This year I would like to see more participation from all area high schools and our junior highs.  Please help get the word out to your school members.

One thing to be sure of in life is; nothing is perfect.  As such there may be a time along the way that a race is scored differently than you know or felt it came out.  The race directors at each race do their best to put on a good race and can and will make a few mistakes along the way.  Even so I will only take the results posted from that race director.  Remember only races on the Lone Star Runner Club Calendar count toward the scoring of this challenge.

What do you have to do?  All that I ask is that you get me your info.  Such as Name, Grade, school and some form of contact preferably email.  Then all you have to do is get more points for your school than any other school by getting others to participate, meet bench marks, and doing your best to place high in the race. Send Info to: wkirton@suddenlink.net
